New version of Pixelmator was released

Version 1.6 (Nucleus) of Pixelmator was released on July 13th, 2010 and the developers are announcing major upgrade compared to the old version.

What is Pixelmator? Simple, it can be called as an alternative to Adobe Photoshop. It’s not doing everything what Photoshop do, but it’s also ~20 times cheaper than Adobe’s product. And at the basic, you’ll be satisfied with Pixelmator’s capabilities. I mean, how many of us is using all the features that Photoshop offers?

This is an update of the revolutionary GPU-powered image editing tool that provides everything needed to create, edit, and enhance still images. It adds major performance improvements, 64-bit support, layer groups, an Import feature, Flickr, Facebook and Picasa support, redesigned transform tools, and more.

Pixelmator 1.6 Nucleus is a free update for current Pixelmator users, and this is a very good news.
